CORNING, NY – During October, the Family Service Society, Inc. will provide a voluntary two hour staff development training session to assist Corning-Painted Post District staff in identifying children who may need counseling or other professional services.

This opportunity will be scheduled four different afternoons after school so that staff can find a convenient time to attend. Two of the sessions will be centered on elementary students and the other two will be centered on secondary students. The sessions are being financed through a S.E.R.V.U. Credit Union grant to our Corning-Painted Post School District Foundation.

During September, the dates and locations of these sessions will be announced. Directions for registering for one of these sessions will be communicated to staff during September by the District Instructional Services Office.

Topics will cover levels of intervention and target response development for:
--The neglected/abused child
--The depress child
--The anxious child
--The angry/aggressive child
--The child with low self-esteem
--The child with family stress
--The child with development challenges
